Do this the next time you have a “crush” on a house…

by Matthew Deadman

Have you ever had a crush on someone, but didn’t have the nerve to even let them know, and then years later you find out that person also had a crush on you?! It’s easy to think, “If only I’d said something at the time!”

Unfortunately, fear of rejection often keeps us from taking chances in life and enjoying it to the fullest, even when there is no actual risk. I see it happen all the time in real estate…

Picture this:

A house that’s for sale catches your eye, and you start daydreaming about how much you’d love to buy it. But a subtle fear of rejection creeps in and you worry that you won’t be able to afford it, or another buyer will beat you to the punch, or outbid you. So you just continue to daydream, and do nothing to see if you could make the dream a reality.

Then, once it’s sold or under contract, you mention to me how much you loved that house, and we figure out that it was within your budget, and would’ve been a perfect fit for you!

I can’t promise that every house you have a “crush” on will be within your budget, or even match your hopes and expectations once you get to see it. But let me know whenever you’ve got your eyes on a home, so we can at least see if there’s a spark there!
